I Stopped Pushing My Autoimmune Body — Peptides That Actually Helped

After living with autoimmune disease for years, one lesson keeps repeating itself: pushing through illness and inflammation always backfires.

Over the past few months — through travel, stress, sugar overload, and getting sick more than once — my body made it very clear that recovery needed to come first. This post expands on my latest YouTube video and captures the core takeaway: autoimmune healing isn’t about doing more, it’s about supporting the body properly.

When “Pushing Through” Makes Autoimmune Symptoms Worse

After returning from Australia, my body was inflamed, exhausted, and clearly struggling. Like many people with autoimmune conditions, I tried to keep training and pushing forward anyway — and it didn’t work.

Lingering cold and flu symptoms, joint pain, and fatigue were signs that my immune system hadn’t recovered properly. Ignoring those signals only prolonged the inflammation.

Stopping, reassessing, and supporting recovery became non‑negotiable.

Peptides I’m Currently Using (and Why)

In my recent recovery phase, I’ve been using peptides strategically rather than aggressively. These include:

  • MOTS‑C – paused temporarily during illness, then reintroduced once recovery stabilised
  • KPV – for inflammation and gut‑immune support
  • BPC‑157 – primarily for shoulder and joint recovery
  • Thymalin – immune system support
  • Melanotan I – introduced carefully alongside other compounds

Rather than stacking everything at once, the focus has been on listening to feedback from my body and adjusting accordingly.

Why Tracking Matters More Than Guessing

One of the biggest changes I’ve made is tracking peptides, symptoms, recovery, sleep, stress, and inflammation instead of relying on memory.

Autoimmune bodies are pattern‑driven. Without tracking, it’s easy to repeat the same mistakes — restarting compounds too quickly, training too hard, or missing early warning signs.

That’s why I use my 2026 Peptides Planner to log:

  • what I’m using
  • how I feel physically and mentally
  • recovery timelines
  • flare patterns

Over time, this creates clarity instead of confusion.

Menopause, Autoimmune Disease & Recovery

Midlife hormonal shifts add another layer to autoimmune management. Recovery is slower, stress tolerance is lower, and inflammation can escalate quickly.

This is why disciplined rest, careful peptide use, and tracking are even more important during menopause.

Final Thoughts

Autoimmune healing isn’t linear — and it isn’t about toughness. It’s about awareness, restraint, and support.

If you’re navigating autoimmune disease, menopause, or peptide use, my hope is that sharing real experiences helps shorten the learning curve.
